The Miami Hurricanes are officially going bowling!  Miami accepted a bowl bid to play in the Cheez-It Bowl in Orlando against Oklahoma State.  While both teams look like they are going to have players opt-out before this game, it’s still a game Miami needs to win to end the season on a positive note after a blowout loss to North Carolina.  Oklahoma State will be without their star running back Chuba Hubbard and Miami will be missing some key pieces as well including Quincy Roche and Jaelan Phillips.  Manny Diaz is still fired up to get another opportunity to play and to get another week of practice with his team.

Coach Diaz joined The Joe Rose Show on Monday morning to talk about the quick turnaround to the game on the 29th.  Diaz said, “It may be the best thing for us, we gave our guys the weekend off, we will get back to work today…I’m excited about the guys we do have playing, that’s one of the benefits you have right now is you have a next man up and I think some guys get excited about their opportunity to go shine.”

The Canes and Cowboys will meet in Orlando on December 29th at 5:30 PM and the game can be heard here on WQAM.
