The Miami Hurricanes Football team has been off for the past two weeks after dealing with Covid issues and it looked like the Canes wait would continue as Wake Forrest is now dealing with positive tests.  Fortunately for Miami, the ACC was able to shift things around and now the Canes will take a trip to Durham on Saturday night to take on the Duke Blue Devils.  Meanwhile during this wait to play, Miami has vaulted up the rankings to number nine in the AP and Coaches polls.  Head Coach Manny Diaz joined The Joe Rose Show on Monday morning and discussed having to drop the Wake Forrest game plan and move on to Duke.

Diaz said, “We found out not too long before it became official last night…there were some different possibilities and I am thankful to our league being able to move some things around…last night we kind of started the scramble on getting Duke broken down and obviously we have some familiarity with them being in our division, we are excited to have the opportunity to play and I know our players are excited to play.”

The coach did say that beginning last week they have been able to bring in players for socially distanced workouts.

Saturday’s game will kick at 8:00 PM and can be heard right here on WQAM.
