Connecticut's COVID-19 team prepares vaccine plan

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Governor Ned Lamont announces a new advisory group to plan for vaccines in Connecticut.

After a a conference call with Vice President Mike Pence and The White House Coronavirus Task Force, Governor Lamont said that the Vice President is ordering states to prepare a plan for mass COVID-19 vaccination. At the director of the Governor, the state is forming a new advisory group to tackle vaccine distribution and safety. Governor Lamont also pointed to the need to boost public confidence and trust in the vaccine.

State Department of Public Health Commissioner Dr. Deidre Gifford says people will likely be vaccinated in essential populations according to a time table.

A preliminary report is due to the Federal Government by mid-October.
