(Hartford, Conn./WTIC) - Hartford police have released more details regarding a double stabbing overnight that left one person dead.
Shortly before 11:30 Thursday night, officers were dispatched to 40 Sherman Street.
Upon arrival they found a male victim with a stab wound to the neck.
A second victim, a female, had a hand injury.
The man, identified as 38-year-old Dyshawn Copeland of Bloomfield, was pronounced dead at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center shortly after midnight.
The female is recovering.
At this point, detectives say the assailant was known to the female victim and an altercation broke out prior to the stabbings.
