Farmington Hills Police Search For Suspect In Shooting At Apartment Complex

(WWJ) Police are trying to track down a possible suspect in a shooting at a Farmington Hills apartment complex.

Police say they responded to a report of shots fired during a fight in the parking lot of the Retreat of Farmington Hills near 12 Mile and Middlebelt around 5 p.m. Friday.  

Investigators learned a “newer dark colored SUV” had left the scene prior to officers’ arrival, carrying people possibly involved in the fight.

A man ran away from officers at the scene.

He is described as African American, in his mid 20’s, medium height between 130 and 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing black jogging pants with a white stripe down the side and carrying a black backpack.

No injuries were reported. Farmington Hills Police believe there is no threat to the public at this time.

Uniformed officers will be conducting increased patrols in the area, according to police.
