16-year-old leads protesters to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office

Olyvia Bright is a 16-year-old high school student with a passion for justice.

Justice for George Floyd, Modesto Reyes, and Breonna Taylor and more.

To show her passion about such subjects, she organized a protest rally and march from the Harry Lee Statue on Veterans and Causeway to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office Eastbank Headquarters this evening.

Her last minute rally and march may have only been attended by more than 20 other protesters, but Olyvia’s spirit was on full display.

The bright teenager adroitly addressed the media who gathered.

They were expecting a larger crowd since the notice of her march went viral earlier today on social media.

Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s even showed up to block traffic for her and her supporters as they crossed Causeway Boulevard at the crosswalk and continued on their way.

All of this happened as cameras from the four TV stations and other local media followed.

Whether or not you agree with Ms Bright's politics, her audaciousness and tenacity of her will to organize a march and assemble participants is worth recognition.
