LSU quarterback Joe Burrow has gone from Heisman trophy longshot at the beginning of the season to Heisman favorite today.
The gambling world started to take notice around the Florida game, said Robert Cooper of SportsBetting.ag.
"About mid-October is really the second, third week of October is when he jumped (Alabama quarterback) Tua (Tagovailoa) and (Oklahoma quarterback) Jalen Hurts as well," said Cooper.
Cooper says Burrow really shot up this week, after LSU defeated Alabama, behind Burrow's 393 yards and three touchdowns.
"This guy, you know, he looks the part of holding that trophy come post-season," said Cooper.
And the Heisman may not be the only post-season prize that Burrow is favored for. Cooper says he also leads, as far as oddsmakers go, in being picked first in the NFL Draft.
"He's at 2:1 right now to be taken number one overall and that just flopped in the last week with Tua and Burrow," said Cooper.
