New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell today announced the September 27 game between the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers will not host fans.
"On September the 27th, the Saints will be here once again with their home game, right here in the dome," the mayor said, "however, fans will not be allowed to attend during that time, either."
The Saints play their first home game this Sunday. It was already decided the4re would be no fans at the first game. While the state had approved a plan by the Saints to host fans at the second home game. Mayor Cantrell said the city could not support it.
"We cannot allow 20,000 people in a crowd together at all," said Cantrell. That would be dangerous, irresponsible, and definitely not aligned with the phase two guidelines in the city of New Orleans."
