Cloudy skies should clear making way for sunshine on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day thanks to an area of high pressure remaining over us.

"It will be warmer too with highs in the 60s on Tuesday," said WWL-TV meteorologist Payton Malone.  "Christmas Eve night will be mostly clear and chilly with lows in the upper 40s north and lower 50s south."

We can expect to warm up to 70 degrees on Wednesday.  It should be great for the kids to get outdoors and enjoy riding that new bike from Santa.

Clouds return to the area on Thursday and Friday," Malone said.  "It will become warmer with high temperatures in the lower 70s and lows in the 50s on both sides of the lake.

Spotty showers are expected by Saturday and Sunday.
