Louisiana State Police today says troopers have arrested a 27-year-old man in connection with a fatal wreck in St. James Parish two months ago. Keimone Mitchell faces vehicular homicide charges for the November 2 crash on LA 18 in Vacherie that took the life of 28-year-old Ramon Domino.

"The preliminary investigation revealed...Mitchell was traveling south on LA 18 in a 2008 Hummer H3. Domino was traveling north on LA 18 in a 2011 Nissan Altima," said State Police. "Mitchell crossed the centerline and struck Domino’s vehicle head-on. Domino was not wearing his seat belt and suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased by the St. James Parish Coroner’s Office. Mitchell was also unrestrained and suffered serious injuries."

Louisiana State Police says a toxicology report on Mitchell showed he was beyond the legal blood alcohol limit.
