If you're watching your carbs, calories, fat, gluten, blood sugar, blood pressure, or waist line, now you have your king cake and eat it too!
Ochsner Health and Caluda Cottage Catering have teamed up to create the Eat-Fit-King-Cake.
This new creation addresses the needs of many these days who have cut a lot of traditional baked goodies out of their diets.
Eat-Fit-King-Cake is gluten-free, grain-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, low carb and Keto-friendly.
A check of the Ochsner website says the cake is sweetened with Swerve, a plant based sweetener.
The dough is made from Almond and Coconut flour, and according to Ochsner, it has the taste and texture of the real thing.
Unlike the usual calorie-bomb king cake, this one is only 140 calories a serving, has 14 grams of fat, 5 grams of saturated fat, 10 grams of carbohydrates (2 net carbs), 1 gram of fiber.
The confection was created with the help of The University of Holy Cross’ Food Science Program.
