Governor John Bel Edwards has writen President Donald Trump over the President's plan to have states shoulder 25% of deployment costs.

The President is requesting an extension of Title 32, authorizing the Louisiana National Guard (LANG) to remain on duty through December 31, 2020.

But, the state of Louisiana is required to pay one-quarter of the cost of deployment.  At $2.5 million dollars a month, that amounts to $10-million dollars the state is on the hook for through the end of December.
