The Jefferson Parish school board will consider pushing the start date for the 2020-2021 school year back to August 12.

St. Tammany Parish Public Schools have already announced plans to delay the start of its school year.

The Jefferson Parish public schools web site shows August 12 as the first day of school for students grades 1-12, pending approval by the Jefferson Parish School Board.

That vote is set for the next meeting, Wednesday, July 15.
