Cyber Monday deals have many people browsing for toys today. Known as the Toy Guy, Chris Byrne says video games are a big hit for the whole family, including an 80’s style Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game console.
“The real sort of controllers and buttons," Byrne said. "It’s about a little less than two-thirds the size of the original, but it’s got the real software for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It comes with a riser, so you can stand up and play and four people can play at once.”
Online sales are projected to make up more than 35% of all US toy sales. Byrne says many of the highly coveted toys may be limited edition or in short supply, so shoppers are acting fast.
“They are buying on the fly, so definitely, if you see something you want, buy it," he added. "It’s not worth saving ten percent to be stressed out later on because things are going to sell out.”
Byrne says concerns over fake reviews may have some shoppers wondering if they are buying a toy that best suits the person they are buying for.
“Really, if you know the child you are buying for, even if the review isn’t completely authentic, you can pretty much understand what the toy is and what it does, so I definitely say read them, take them with a grain of salt,” said Byrne.
