Tremont Waters' decision to declare for the NBA Draft paid off.  Waters was selected by the Boston Celtics with the No. 51 overall pick in the second round.

Many analysts believed Waters was making a mistake and would go undrafted.  An impressive performance at the pre-draft combine had him shooting up draft boards, and heading into draft day as a likely second round selection.

Waters averaged 15.3 points per game last season at LSU, while dishing out 5.8 assists per game and grabbing 2.9 steals.  He proved to be an effective scorer all over the court, shooting 50.7% from the field and 32.7% from three-point range.

Waters was the first LSU player selected in the draft, with teammate Naz Reid falling precipitously after some pre-draft grades had him being selected in the first round.
