More than 80% fewer people on ventilators in Louisiana

The number of people with COVID-19 needing machines to breath for them in Louisiana has fallen 81% over the past six weeks.

State health officials today report that number of patients on ventilators has fallen to 104.

In early April there were 563 people in Louisiana on ventilators.

The number of people in the hospital keeps dropping too.  That number fell to 867 today.  That's a drop of 17.

The number of coronavirus deaths increased by 39 to a new statewide total of 2,545.

That COVID-19 count in Louisiana grew by 421 for a total of 36,925.
