New Orleans police investigating Friday night French Quarter stabbing

The NOPD is investigating what they call an aggravated battery by cutting on Friday night in the French Quarter. 

It happened just before 7 p.m. in the 900 block of Decatur Street, as Carnival krewes rolled down the parade route 10 blocks away on Canal Street. 

Police say the 41-year-old victim and the suspect were involved in a physical altercation. The suspect then stabbed the victim in the chest and fled down Decatur 

The victim was taken by EMS to the trauma center at University Medical Center around 7 p.m. Friday.
