A Father’s Day double shooting stems from an argument over a parking space.

The Sunday tragedy resulted in the death of a step son and the attempted murder of the man’s step-grandson.

Mark Jones was arrested and booked following the incident.

His stepson Tyrell Washington, Sr was taken to University Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds and later died of his injuries.

Washington’s 21-year-old son is in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the neck.

The incident took place on late Sunday night on North Clark Lane near North Claiborne Parkway in Westwego.

The Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate reports Jones and Washington were involved in a heated argument over a parking space at the residence.

The argument turned into a fist fight with Jones then grabbing a gun and shooting Washington and his step-grandson.

Jones was arrested at the home and taken to Jefferson Parish Correctional Center where he is being held on $750,000 bond.
