Traffic lights went dark across several blocks of Downtown New Orleans Monday morning.
Entergy says an underground transformer at Julia St. and Tchoupitoulas St. caught fire.
With no functioning traffic lights in the area, all intersections became four-way stops, slowing down traffic.
Most of the power appears to have been restored shortly after 10:00 a.m. Entergy estimates complete restoration around noon.
