Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng says she has no plans right now to extend the stay-at-home order.
"Right now our stay-at-home order is until April 30th," said Sheng, but she also said the reopening of Jefferson Parish will likely come gradually.
"This is going to be data-driven. It's going to be a process where we're going to really look to our medical community, to our business community, to our elected officials, to the governor's office, to our surrounding parishes, to step carefully," she said. "It's not going to be a big, old 'jump-in,' it's going to be treading carefully."
Sheng said they will be getting advice from the medical community to constantly reassess plans, test, and monitor people in case individuals needed to be quarantined as things slowly return to normal.
"We all look forward to the say when we can start getting our community back," said Sheng.
