Cops are looking into claims that a national comedian was knocked unconscious during a trip to perform in New Orleans.

"The NOPD is investigating a possible assault involving in individual identified as Andy Dick," Public Information Officer Gary Scheets said in an email. "The complaint was filed Monday afternoon."

Louisiana State Police responded to an incident around 2:20am on Saturday, August 10, 2019.

It happened in the 600 block of Toulouse Street.

"The investigation is open and active. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Eighth District at 504-658-6080 or call Crimestoppers anonymously at 504-822-1111 and toll-free at 1-877-903-7867."

He was in the French Quarter to perform at One Eyed Jacks nightclub.

Some witnesses reported someone sucker punched Dick after the show. He allegedly fell, hit a motorcycle and lost consciousness.

Dick told the Times Picayune, the New Orleans Advocate that he was “knocked out 100 percent for 15 minutes.”

A State Police spokesman told the paper that troopers did not make any arrests, issue any citations or obtain any warrants in connection with the case on Toulouse or any incident involving “that particular comedian.”
