Pelicans forward Zion Williamson has been named a finalist for Kia Rookie of the Year award, the NBA announced Saturday.
The former Duke star joins Memphis guard Ja Morant and Miami guard Kendrick Nunn.
Williamson is up for the award despite missing a large part of his rookie season as he recovered from a knee injury. However, when the 2019 NBA Draft's top pick has been on the floor, he's impressed.
In 23 games this season, Williamson has posted 22.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per game while shooting nearly 60 percent.
Morant was the second pick in this year's draft and has the Grizzlies currently holding the eighth seed in the Western conference posting 17.8 points and 7.1 assists per game.
Nunn has posted 15.2 points per game and has helped Miami win 46 games this season
