NCAA to allow football, basketball activities June 1: report

The NCAA Division I Council voted Wednesday that voluntary activities in football, basketball can start June 1, according to a report from Yahoo Sports' Pete Thamel.

Sources: The NCAA Division I Council voted to approve voluntary athletic activities in football, MBB and WBB to start June 1st and go through June 30th. There had been a moratorium on that through May 31st. Other sports will be acted on on a later date.

According to the report, the voluntary work can run through June 30 and the council will take action on other NCAA sports at a later date.

There's currently a moratorium on all in person activities through May 31 as the NCAA took actions to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
