Defensive lineman Neil Farrell expected to rejoin LSU, report says

Defensive lineman Neil Farrell Jr. is expected to rejoin the LSU football team, according to a report from The Athletic's Brody Miller.

News: #LSU defensive lineman Neil Farrell is back at the LSU facilities today and plans on opting back in for the 2020 season. Farrell opted out Aug. 8 for COVID-19 reasons, as his grandmother was hospitalized.Now, LSU gets one of its best interior linemen back.

Farrell is one of four LSU players that opted out of the 2020 season. Receiver Ja'Marr Chase, defensive back Kary Vincent Jr. and defensive lineman Tyler Shelvin opted out as well.

Farrrell returning adds another experienced player to a defensive line that unit that lost several key contributors was last season's national championship run.

The 6-foot-4, 319-pound lineman had 46 tackles including seven for loss to go along with three sacks in 2019.
