The Saints are facing an uphill battle in Chicago Sunday. No Drew Brees. No Alvin Kamara. A stiff and stingy Bears defense to contend with. But the Black and Gold aren't traveling completely empty-handed, and Saints Radio Network color analyst Deuce McAllister says it offers a golden opportunity for offseason's biggest addition to the backfield.
"I think you'll see the heaviest workload for Latavius Murray. And I think he's gonna welcome that opportunity," McAllister said.
"This Saints offense is going to have to run the football. They have to be able to get at least 100 yards rushing. Look at the weapons that you have. Look at the weapons and how you have to play this game. You're going to have to run the football to give yourself a chance to win this game."
With Kamara hobbled last week, Murray saw his most productive day as a Saint, running for 44 yards and adding another 35 in the passing game. His success against the Chicago front seven could be the key to the Saints stretching their winning streak to five games.
The Saints and Bears square off at 3:25 Sunday on WWL. Our coverage starts at 11am. You can hear more of McAllister's analysis of the matchup by clicking the podcast link.
