Saints head coach Sean Payton regularly invites guest speakers to join team meetings and a former LSU great happened to be a part of a very emotional one yesterday.

On the show “NBA on TNT”, Shaquille O’Neal revealed that he was on the video conference call that included Drew Brees apologizing to teammates after he received criticism for his response to a question about NFL players possibly resuming pregame protests during the national anthem.

“They said, Drew we know you character. We knew you stepped into some stuff that you can’t get out of, but guess what? We want you to do more positive things and less talking. And, they all said we accept your apology.”
