Tommy: Saints had to beat the Panthers and the refs

It all worked out for the Saints and us loyal fans. We beat the Panthers. The 49ers beat the Packers.  We can win our third consecutive NFC South title with a win over the flawed Falcons on Thursday night.  We can control our future and lock up the number one seed and home field advantage throughout the playoffs if we then beat San Francisco and win out.  So why aren’t we ecstatic?

The answer can all be summed up in two words:  HORRIBLE OFFICIATING

After last year’s ridiculous no-call in the NFC title game against the Rams, who could blame a Saints fan for tempering their joy and optimism due to the HORRIBLE OFFICIATING that we saw during Sunday’s Panthers game?  It was a game that we won because we overcame adversity.  And a lot of the adversity came from those wearing white and black striped shirts.

But will we always be able to overcome the TWO opponents we seem to be playing in every game plus the inevitable injuries that present themselves at this point in the season?
