Build-A-Bear is one with the Force, and will soon allow you to build your very own Baby Yoda plush.
"I'm excited to share we will be one of the first companies to provide the digital and internet phenomenon who is trending higher than all the presidential candidates combined,” Build-A-Bear CEO Sharon Price John said, per Business Insider, during a presentation on Tuesday at the ICR Conference in Orlando, Florida while holding up a Baby Yoda stuffed bear.
"We now will have The Child, also known as Baby Yoda,” she enthusiastically shared adding that the plush will be available in Build-A-Bear stores in the next few months.
Sales at the workshop will likely skyrocket as fans of “The Mandalorian” have been dying to get their hands on toys featuring the adorable alien since the show’s premiere in November.
Various toy companies have announced Baby Yoda toys recently including Funko Pop, but despite pre-orders being available, customers won’t get their hands on the toys until the Spring of 2020.
"We started this process almost with the first episode," John said, explaining that the partnership with Disney and Lucasfilm has been smooth.
While it’s unclear how much the Baby Yoda stuffed animal will cost ("Star Wars" plushes range from $29 to $65), it definitely won’t set you back $5 million, which is how much the on-set puppet costs the film studio.
John said on Tuesday that despite being a company geared towards children, almost half of sales come from tweens, teens, and adults seeking out products from popular films, which makes partnerships with studios very lucrative.
Build-A-Bear’s recent offerings include plush toys from Disney films like “Frozen 2,” “Toy Story” “Lion King,” and “Star Wars.”
They also have character plushes from “Pokemon,” “Deadpool,” “Spongebob Squarepants,” “Wizard of Oz,” and more.
