Things are not off to a promising start this week for New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas.
The star receiver did not practice on Wednesday as he deals with a Grade 1 hamstring strain following an ankle injury that has also kept him out since Week 1 when he last played.
This has undoubtedly been a frustrating season for Thomas. The 27-year-old appeared to be healthy to return to the Saints in Week 5, but he was benched after getting into an altercation with a teammate following practice.
Trade rumors have also swirled around Thomas, who seems to be disgruntled in New Orleans, but head coach Sean Payton quickly put those rumors to rest.
If Thomas is unable to play in Week 8 against the Chicago Bears, he will look to return to action in Week 9 when they on a highly anticipated matchup with NFC South rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
