The New Orleans Saints will begin evaluating 2021 NFL Draft prospects in person this week at the Reese’s Senior Bowl.
The Saints currently have three picks in this year’s draft including the 28th pick in first round.
As the Saints head into the offseason, they’ll do so with several with several potential positions of need as several key contributors from 2020’s playoff roster are set to hit free agency.
But which positions should the Saints be targeting as they begin the draft process? WWL’s play-by-play announcer Zach Strief and analyst Deuce McAllister offered their opinion on the biggest position of need for the Saints in the upcoming draft.
Here’s what they said:
Strief: I think largely it’s going to largely depend on what they do with their own free agents. I believe with the moves that will be made there will be needs in the secondary and depth at offensive line. They still need a young playmaker at linebacker to pair with Demario. Quarterback becomes a huge need if they can’t resign Jameis (Winston)
Deuce: I think this will change because of free agency and cuts. But you have to address the linebacker position and overall depth across the board.
