Report: Eviction ban ending, Amazon Union fight

Millions of people are in danger of losing their homes when federal and local limits on evictions expire at the end of the year. A new report from the National Low Income Housing Coalition estimates that 6.7 million people could be evicted in the coming months.

Amazon warehouse workers in Alabama have filed a petition to hold a union election, setting the stage for a high-profile labor battle inside the online retail giant.   Workers from the warehouse in Bessemer are seeking to be represented by the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union.

Noble Corp. , an operator of offshore oil-and-gas drilling rigs, has been cleared to exit bankruptcy with a plan that transfers control of the business to its bondholders and trims more than $3 billion in debt. Noble is among a handful of heavily indebted offshore oil drillers that have filed for bankruptcy protection over the last several months.
