NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The new district attorney in New Orleans says he was unaware that a performer at his inauguration ceremony had criminal cases pending. Glen David Andrews performed Monday at the ceremony for Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams. Charges against Andrews include domestic abuse and child endangerment, armed robbery and drug possession.

A statement Monday from prosecutor's office says the cases will be handled appropriately by the office. The office did not address whether it was a conflict of interest to feature a performer with pending criminal charges at the ceremony. Andrews' lawyer confirmed his client has pleaded not guilty but declined to comment further.
