The White House Coronavirus Task Force says COVID-19 is resurgent in Louisiana, and the state must take bolder steps to mitigate the spread of the pandemic virus, WWL-TV reports.
There 2,073 are new cases of coronavirus in Louisiana today, according to the state department of health, and 15 more deaths.
Hospitalizations are now at 929, 43 more than yesterday -- the sixth straight day of increases, and up more than 250 since last week.
The White House report says Louisiana's "current mitigation efforts are inadequate and must be increased" to keep the state's health care infrastructure from being overwhelmed.
